Cardinals Wrap Up Day One at the Power Five Invitational

Louisville finishes with two wins and three second place finishes
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the first day at the Power Five Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday evening. The Cardinals finished the day with two wins and three second place finishes on the first day of competition.Â

Aurilla Wilson and Halee Hudson led the Cards with two wins. Wilson won the women's 3000 meters with a personal best time of 9:50.15. Hudson won the women's weight throw with a personal best heave of 20.15m/66-01.50. Â

Freshman Addie Wanner made her collegiate debut in the pentathlon, finishing second with 3,486 points. Wanner won the high jump, finished second in the long jump and third in the 60-meter hurdles to secure the runner-up finish. Â

Ivine Chemutai finished second in the women's 5000 meters with a season best time of 16:59.31. On the men's side, Emmanuel Cheboson clocked a season best time of 14:17.81 for a runner-up finish.

Five Cardinals advanced to finals of their respective events. Sydney Hill and Kayla Alexander advanced to the finals in the 60-meter hurdles. Hill finished with a time of 8.71 while Alexander finished with a time of 8.77. On the men's side, Martice Moore advanced to the finals with a time of 8.08.

Sophomore Brooke Raglin advanced to the finals in the 60 meters, finishing with a personal best time of 7.43. Freshman Sterling Warner advanced on the men's side with a time of 6.83.

Four Cardinals will resume competition in the heptathlon tomorrow. Philip Frank led the way for Louisville on the first day. Frank currently stands in fifth place with 2,872 points. Dominic McClinton is seventh with 2,835 points. Aaron Johnson is ninth with 2,624 points while Clay Moss is 11th with 1,982 points.Â

The second and final day of the Power Five Invitational begins at 9:30 a.m. with the resumption of the heptathlon. Field event action begins at 11 a.m. with finals on the track beginning at noon.Â
