Louisville Football 2020 Signing Day Central

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield signed 25 student-athletes during the early signing day period on Wednesday.
Coming off a 7-5 regular season, the Cardinals added a strong class to help ease the departure of 27 seniors.
A total of 15 signees will enroll when class resumes in January.
The Cardinals signed players from 11 different states, with Georgia leading the way with nine and Florida being second with five. Three players were signed from the Buckeye state and a pair from Kentucky.
The 2020 class is highlighted by quarterback Tee Webb from Cartersville, Ga., who posted a 52-3 mark and was a four-time regional champion. He inked with the Cardinals after throwing for over 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns in his scholastic career.
The Cardinals added one of the top offensive lineman in the country, Trevor Reid from Georgia Military College. With two years of eligibility remaining, Reid is the top-rated JUCO tackle in the country. The Cardinals added four more offensive linemen: Kobe Baynes, Austin Collins, Luke Kandra, and Timothy Lawson.
Four-star linebacker Kameron Wilson is the second-highest rated player in the class. The McDonough, Ga., native totaled 123 tackles and 25.5 sacks as a senior. He also was credited with 47 tackles for loss to earn first-team all-state honors. Marvin Dallas, the No. 1 JUCO outside linebacker, is also one of the highest-rated players in the class after coming out of Georgia Military College. He totaled 36 tackles and a sack last season. Zay Peterson from Bradenton, Fla., is the third linebacker in the class.
Cornerback Greedy Vance from Kenner, La., the No. 22 cornerback from the state, guiding his Edna Karr team to the 4-A championship game. Lovie Jenkins from Orlando, Fla., is a highly-rated defensive back who will bolster the secondary. Josh Minkins from Ballard High School in Louisville and Lovie Jenkins from Orlando, Fla., are highly-rated signees who will bolster the secondary.Jamel Starks, who signed with the Cardinals last season, has inked with the Cardinals after one season at Palmetto Prep Academy. Marqui Lowery was a late addition to the class after leading Vance to a state title in North Carolina last season.
The Cardinals added depth on the defensive line by signing three players in the class led by Ja’Darien Boykin, who was one of the highest rated players in last year’s class. He signed with the Cardinals this season after failing to qualify. Jared Dawson from Memphis, Tenn., recorded 152 tackles and 18 sacks in his career and Dezmond Tell, who hails from Stockbridge, Ga., recorded 67 tackles at Dutchtown High.
With the loss of four wide receivers, the Cardinals added five wide outs in the 2020 class. Christian Fitzpatrick, the younger brother of current wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick, caught 33 passes for 611 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. Nicholas Malito from Girard, Ohio, caught 125 passes for 2,510 yards in his career. Local product Jordan Watkins from Butler is one of the top prospects in the state of Kentucky. Dexter Rentz from Orlando, Fla., totaled over 1,700 yards all-purpose yards and 1,155 yards receiving last season. Braden Smith from Northwest Mississippi Community recorded 92 receptions for 1,261 yards and 18 touchdowns in his two-year JUCO tenure.
Losing one of the top kickers in school history in Blanton Creque, the Cardinals found their replacement in Brock Travelstead from Acworth, Ga. Travelstead went 28-for-35 on field goals and 128-for-130 on PAT’s during his scholastic career. A three-time All-County Special Teams Player of the Year, Travelstead was named a scholastic All-American.
Tight end Desmond Daniels from Fairburn, Ga., is a big bodied tight end who will help bolster that position next season.
Athlete Duane Martin from Laurens, S.C., was named the 2019 Region Player of the Year and was voted two-time County Player of the Year.
