- Louisville is now 2-0 all-time against Akron, with the other victory coming during the 2005-06 season.
- UofL is 6-0 to start the season for the first time since 2014-15.
- With the win, the Cardinals have captured the Global Sports Shootout title. Louisville was a perfect 4-0 in the five-team, round-robin event defeating Youngstown State, North Carolina Central, USC Upstate and Akron.
- Louisville has now won 30 regular season tournament championships.
- The victory is the 150th for the Cardinals in the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville is 150-25 (.857) in its 10 years since the arena opened.
- The Cardinals have won 78 of their last 82 non-conference games on their home court.
- Louisville has won 55 straight home games in the month of November, including a perfect 42-0 in the KFC Yum! Center.

- The Cardinals crossed the 80-point plateau for the fourth time in six games this season. Louisville is 207-12 over the last 18 seasons when scoring 80 points or more.
- Four Cardinals scored in double figures on Sunday, as all nine players that took the court scored at least one point.
- Louisville has had at least four players in double figures in each of its six games this year.
- Louisville entered the night as the top defensive rebounding team in the ACC at 30.4 defensive boards per game. The Cardinals surpassed their average on Sunday evening with 33 rebounds on the defensive end.
- The Cardinals also had a good night on the offensive glass as well, pulling down a season-best 15 offensive rebounds. Louisville turned those into 13 second-chance points.
- UofL was 21-for-30 from the free throw line in the win, marking season-high totals in both makes and attempts.
- Louisville led 47-31 at halftime. The 47 points were tied for the most by the Cardinals in any half this season, matching the first half output against Indiana State.
- Akron made 8 of its first 12 shots to start the game, but Louisville held the Zips to just 2-of-14 over the final 11-plus minutes of the first half.
- Akron shot 38.5 percent (10-of-26) over the game's first 20 minutes, making it 10 halves this season in which Louisville held the opposition below 40 percent from the field.
- Louisville upped its total of runs of 8-0 or better to 15 with 11-0 and 8-0 spurts against Akron.
- The Cardinals also held Akron scoreless for stretches of 3:08 and 4:02, making it 16 times they have forced the opposition into a scoring draught of three minutes or better through six games.
PLAYER NOTES
- Jordan Nwora led the Cardinals with 18 points on Sunday night. The preseason ACC Player of the Year has scored at least 17 points in all six games this season.
- Nwora's 128 points this season are tied for the most through six games by a Louisville player in the last 20 years, matching the 128 scored by Marques Maybin to begin the 2000-01 season.
- Dwayne Sutton finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and seventh of his career.
- Sutton has double-digit rebounds in three of the six games this season, giving him 12 games with at least 10 boards during his three seasons at Louisville.
- Steven Enoch closed out the night 6-of-9 from the field and matched his season-high with 17 points.
- Enoch has scored in double figures in four of the six games this season, including at least 15 on three occasions.
- Ryan McMahon hit a pair of three-pointers in the game's first five minutes and ended the evening with 10 points.
- McMahon has scored at least 10 points four times through six games and made multiple three-pointers in all six.
- With the two makes, 20 of McMahon's 23 made field goals this season have been from beyond the arc.
- In his second game of the season, David Johnson scored nine points for the Cardinals.
- Johnson made his only two shots in his debut on Wednesday and started 3-for-3 on Sunday to make it five consecutive makes from the field to start his collegiate career.
