
Cardinals Close the Fall Season in Hawaii

The Cardinals are looking for their third-straight win.
LOUISVILLE – The University of Louisville men's golf team will look for its third-straight win when the Cardinals compete at the inaugural Hoakalei Country Club Invitational on O'ahu.
The tournament signals the end of the fall season for the Cardinals, who have won back-to-back tournaments for the first time since the 2005-06 season. The Cardinals took home titles at the Bearcat Invitational then at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.
To win another tournament, the Cardinals will face a challenging field that features seven teams ranked in the Top 100, which the Cardinals enters as the top-ranked team at No. 10. Other ranked teams include No. 32 East Tennessee State, No. 41 Ole Miss, No. 51 Marquette, No. 64 Nevada, No. 72 Missouri, and No. 83 Sam Houston State.
One of the top players in the nation, Matthias Schmid leads the team with a 68.33 stroke average and owns three top-10 finishes this fall. John Murphy, who won the Bearcat Invitational in late September, is second on the squad with a 68.66 average. Also playing this week will be Jiri Zuska, Trevor Johnson, and Keegan de Lange, while Devin Morley will compete as an individual.
The 54-hole tournament will feature 18 holes each day at the par-72, 7,248-yard Hoakalei Country Club Invitational. The tourney begins each day with an 8:30 a.m. HT shotgun start.
