August 02, 2018 | Men's Golf
Trevor Johnson finished second overall at 14-under par.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Two University of Louisville men's golfers finish in the top three in the 2018 Kentucky Open on Thursday afternoon at the Harmony Landing Country Club.
Trevor Johnson, a current member of the Cardinals, finished second overall, while Daniel Iceman, a UofL graduate, placed third in the 54-hole tournament
A native of Brentwood, Tennessee, Johnson fired a 14-under par 199, while Iceman was a shot back at 200. Johnson had a chance to catch Shirley on the finishing stretch. He birdied three of his last seven holes and had a putt on the final hole to force a playoff. But as his putt narrowly burned the edge, the victory for Shirley was sealed.
Johnson appeared in four events for the Cardinals, finishing with a 73.50 stroke average, including one top-20 finish.
