Cardinals to Host Novice Walk-On Meetings Aug. 23-24
August 13, 2018 | Rowing
Informational meetings set for August 23 at 4:30 p.m., and August 24 at 1:30 p.m., in SAC W116
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing team will host novice walk-on meetings Thursday, Aug. 23 at 4:30 p.m., ET and Friday, Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Both meetings will be Room W116 in the Swain Student Activities Center.
Any students interested in learning more about the Cardinals rowing team and how to walk-on should plan to attend one of the two informational meetings. All attendees should bring a completed sports physical and a copy of your insurance card. Reservations are not required for the meeting and no rowing experience is necessary.Â
"Novice tryouts are so exciting because they're the first chance to meet athletes who will be rowing alongside the varsity squad in the spring," said Louisville assistant coach Hannah Ritter. "Every year, these aspiring student-athletes question their ability to hold their own within the varsity team - and, even with zero high-school rowing experience, every year they do. If you're at all considering this opportunity, just come along to tryouts. You'll make friends, learn a new skill, and have a great experience your first few weeks as a Cardinal."
Anyone interested in learning more about the Louisville rowing novice program but cannot attend either of the meetings can contact Ritter at HannahR@GoCards.com.Â
