
Howell, Madura, Shanahan Named IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

The Cardinals were also named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Emily Howell, Casey Madura and Brenna Shanahan have been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, while the entire team has been recognized as an Academic Honor Squad.
Howell graduated in May with a degree in Biology and had a 3.788 grade point average for 2017-18, Madura graduated in May with a degree in Sport Administration and had a 3.763 GPA, while Shanahan is studying Exercise Science and had a 3.560 GPA.
Overall, the team put together a 3.425 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year.
The IWLCA honored 462 student-athletes from 105 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.Â
They named 339 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
