Robinson earns second team All-American honors
EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Louisville men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday evening. Senior Damar Robinson earned second team All-American honors in the high jump to lead the Cardinals on the final day of men's competition at historic Hayward Field.Â
"Today was a tough day for us in the high jump," said head coach Dale Cowper. "Damar and Jerin came out and gave it their best but we fell a little short of what we had hoped for.  Both these guys have been a big part of our program for the last couple of seasons and we are glad they chose to spend that time with us here in Louisville."
Just like the NCAA Preliminary round, Robinson and Allen had to fight through the rain during the competition. Robinson finished 10th in the high jump with a leap of 2.13m (6-11¾). With the finish, Robinson earns second team All-American honors. He is a two-time indoor All-American and earns his first outdoor All-American honor.Â
Senior Jerin Allen was unable to clear the bar. Allen finishes his career with indoor and outdoor All-American honors as well.Â
Louisville will wrap up competition tomorrow in the women's championship. Senior Bailey Davis will make her NCAA Championship debut in the 5,000 meters at 8:25 p.m. ET
