Seven Athletes Set to Compete at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Seven University of Louisville track and field athletes are set to compete on the biggest stage of their respective careers this week, as they head west for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. The four-day championships at Oregon University's Hayward Field start on Wednesday, June 6, and conclude on Saturday.

ESPN will provide full coverage throughout all four days of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The first two days will be broadcast live on ESPN2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday and 7 p.m. on Thursday. The two championship days will air live on ESPN, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. All field events throughout each of the four days will be available to stream live on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
The men's championship will be contested on Wednesday and Friday with the women competing on Thursday and Saturday. The first two days consist of semifinal heats on the track (with the exception of the 10,000 final) with finals in the field events. The men's multi-events will compete on Wednesday and conclude on Thursday.Â
Joe Delgado will be the first to compete for the Cardinals. Delgado will compete in decathlon on Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m. in the 100 meters. He will conclude competition on Thursday with the 1500 meters at 9:26 p.m.  Â

On Thursday, three Cardinal freshmen will compete on the women's side. Makenli Forrest will start the day with the hammer throw at 4:40 p.m. Gabriela Leon will compete in the pole vault at 7:30 p.m. and Dorcas Wasike will wrap up the day with the 10,000 meters at 9:38 p.m.Â
Jerin Allen and Damar Robinson will conclude the men's competition for the Cardinals on Friday. They will both compete in the high jump at 8:00 p.m.Â
On Saturday, Bailey Davis will wrap up the women's competition for Louisville. She will run in the 5,000 meters at 8:25 p.m. Â
