Track and Field's Makenli Forrest Named ACC Women's Field Co-Performer of the Week

The freshman earns her first ACC weekly honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville freshman Makenli Forrest was named the ACC Women's Field Co-Performer of the Week. This is the first ACC weekly honor for Forrest.

Florida State's Ka'Tia Seymour has been named the ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week, while North Carolina's Kenny Selmon took honors on the men's side. Florida State's Austin Droogsma is the Men's Field Performer of the Week, while the Seminoles' Shanice Love were selected the Women's Co-Field Performer of the Week along with Forrest.

Forrest set a new Louisville school record in the hammer throw on Friday afternoon at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational. With her fifth throw of the day, Forrest tossed a 65.00m (213-3) to shatter Jere' Summers' previous record of 63.20m (207-4) set during the 2010 season. Forrest finished second in the event behind nationally fifth-ranked Terri Ogunrinde of Minnesota. Forrest, a freshman from Ellenwood, Georgia, currently ranks 10th in the nation following last Friday's effort.
