
Katie Walsh and Erin McCrudden Selected to USA Field Hockey National Development Squad for Chile Series

Junior Katie Walsh and alum Erin McCrudden will travel to Santiago Chile with USA Field Hockey Women’s National Development Squad
University of Louisville junior Katie Walsh and alum Erin McCrudden have been named to the USA Field Hockey Women's National Development Squad to compete in a four-game test series against Chile's Women's and U-19 Women's National Team from May 15-24 in Santiago, Chile.

Walsh, a midfielder from Louisville, Ky. (Ballard HS) was named to U.S. National Development Squad in January 2018 after starting every game for the Cardinals in 2017. She scored a goal in the 3-2 win at No. 5 North Carolina and dished out her first career assist in the 5-1 win over Kent State to total three points.

McCrudden played for the Cardinals from 2013-16 and has earned 11 caps since joining the USWNT in early 2017. The Putnam Valley, N.Y. native capped her playing career at Louisville by earning 2016 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) second team All-America honors. During her senior campaign, the midfielder and team co-captain led the ACC and was second in the nation with 18 assists. She went on to be named to the All-ACC second team and NFHCA Senior Game and garnered Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region honors for the second straight season.
