Robinson earns honor after posting a top-10 performance on Friday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville senior Damar Robinson was named the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week. Robinson was one of five student-athletes who rank among the nation's top 10 in their respective events to be named ACC Track and Field Performers of the Week for April 17.
Florida State's Andre Ewers and North Carolina's Kenny Selmon are the ACC Men's Track Co-Performers of the Week. Miami freshman Kayla Johnson was recognized as ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week for the third time, and Virginia Tech freshman Rachel Baxter is the league Women's Field Performer of the Week.
In his season debut in the high jump, Robinson cleared 2.21m (7-3) for the win, a mark that currently leads the ACC and is just shy of his career best mark. The Kingston, Jamaica native's mark currently is tied for ninth in the nation and was also the nation's second-best high jump of the past weekend. His win helped guide the Cardinal men to a team victory in the Louisville Invitational.
