April 12, 2018 | Field Hockey
Catching up with Casey Carwile Wilson who played for the Cards from 1994 through 1997
Casey (Carwile) Wilson played for the University of Louisville from 1994 through 1997. The Louisville native was a three year starter and team captain her junior and senior years. In 1996, she was selected to represent the University of Louisville at the NCAA Final Four at Boston College as a coach with The RISE Field Hockey Program. Academically, Wilson was a member of the Athletic Director Honor Roll each semester.
Â
After earning her Bachelor's Degree in 1998 she began her career in banking. Wilson has been with Republic Bank as a Vice President Treasury Management Officer for sixteen years. In her current role, she works with corporate clients on transitioning their banking relationships to Republic Bank, and then managing their relationship to optimize liquidity and assisting with sound financial investments for excess cash.
Â
Wilson has served as a member of the Board of Directors for Family Scholar House and The Center for Women & Families. While on The Center for Women and Families Board, she co-chaired their Celebration of Service and Survival a mission near and dear to her heart that pays tribute to women who have spent their time and talents advocating for women and girls in Kentuckiana.
Â
Field Hockey continues to be a passion in her life.  In 2014, she began coaching middle school field hockey at Christian Academy of Louisville. She was instrumental in starting an elementary intramural field hockey program at the school that helps young athletes develop their love for the sport in first grade. The teams she has coached have won three city championships. The 2017 Sixth Grade City Championship was extra special because her daughter Callahan was a member of the team.Â
Â
In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, husband David "Boots" Buchanon, daughter Callahan and son Bryce. Avid Dallas Cowboys football fans, her family has a goal to see the team play at every football stadium, even travelling to see the team play in London, England.
