Cards Place 17 on Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad

Field Hockey continues to earn national academic recognition
The University of Louisville field hockey team placed 17 student-athletes on the 2017 Zag Field Hockey National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad.
The Division I National Academic Squad program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
Seniors Abby Grimes, Marigrace Ragsdale and Nicole Woods each earned the award for the fourth time in their careers. They were joined on the squad by: Elizabeth Allgeier, Carter Ayars, Ali Bitting, Maria Gomez, AnnMarie Habelow, Isabella Leeker, Annie Mulford, Mercedes Pastor, Sarah Sabaluski, Meghan Schneider, Taylor Stone, Sydnie Swartwood, Katie Walsh and Madison Walsh.
The Cards finished the 2017 season with a 14-8 overall record after earning their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance and posting a runner-up finish in the ACC championship. UofL also posted a 4-2 record in ACC play - the most wins since joining the conference in 2014 - and finished tied for second in the regular season standings. Louisville was ranked No. 8 in the final National Field Hockey Coaches' Association poll after being ranked in the top 10 for six weeks in 2017.
