Men's Golf Shows Final Round Improvement at the Hootie Intercollegiate

Matthias Schmid fired a 2-undr par 214 for the tournament.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Matthias Schmid shot a 2-under-par 214 to tie for 19th and led the University of Louisville men's golf team on Tuesday in the final round of the Hootie Bay Intercollegiate.
The freshman posted a 4-under par for his best round best round at the Hootie Intercollegiate. Schmid, who shot a 1-under-par 71 in the first round, climbed into a tie for 19th place after finishing with a 71-75-68=214.
Collectively, Louisville placed 11th in the 15-team field with a 15-over-par 879. The Cardinals put together their best performance of the tournament in the last round, with a 5-under-par 283. Mississippi won the team title with a 19-under-par 841.
Junior Simon Zach, who was 8-over par after the first two rounds, responded with a 3--under par 69 on Tuesday yo tie for 47th, carding a 71-82-69=221. Nicolas Platret tied for 55th-place after his even-par round of 72. He shot 75-76-72=223.
Another junior, Keegan de Lange tied for 61st-place with his three-day total of 73-74-78=225. John Murphy rounded out the top five with a 77=81-74=232 to tie for 71st/
The Cardinals return to action on April 13-15 at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate in Nashville, Tenn.
