
Track and Field Wraps Up Day One at the Black & Gold Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Louisville track and field teams wrapped up the first day of competition at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational with three top eight performances.Â

Freshman Lucas Weaver led the Cards with a third place finish in the men's pole vault with an outdoor season best jump of 4.60m/15'1". Weaver also ran the 200 meter dash with a personal best time of 23.86 for 24th place.Â

Teammate Albert Kosgei snagged a season best as well finishing 14th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:57.04.Â

Mia Ross and Aurilla Wilson rounded out day one for the Cardinals in the 1500 meter run. Ross finished sixth with a time of 4:33.26 while Wilson recorded a personal best time of 4:35.08 for 8th place.Â

The Cards will wrap up competition at the Black & Gold Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
