Men's Golf Ties for Eighth at the Hayt Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfer Keegan de Lange shot a 1-over-par 217 to tie for 20th and led the University of Louisville men's golf team on Monday in the final round of the Hayt Invitation in Jacksonville, Fla.
The junior used six birdies on Monday to fire a third-round score of 71. De Lange, who shot a 3-under-par 69 in the second round, climbed five spots on the leaderboard in the final day of competition.
Collectively, Louisville tied with Washington for eighth in the 15-team field with a 12-over-par 876. The Cardinals put together a round of 1-over par on the final day to climb two spots. Auburn won the team title with a 12-under-par 852.
Freshman John Murphy and senior Nicloas Platret finished with the second-best scores on the team, tying for 25th behind a 2-over-par 218. Under difficult conditions, both players shot 73-72-73=218.
After shooting a two-round 11-over par, freshman Matthias Schmid shot an even par 72 in the final round to tie for 63rd. Junior Simon Zach rounded out the top five with finishing in a tie for 66th place after shooting 79-72-77=228.
The Cardinals will return to action on March 25-27 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
