The Cardinals Tie for Ninth at the Lamkin Grips SD Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 6-over 294 in the final round of the Lamkin San Diego Classic to finish in a tie for ninth place at the San Diego Country Club.
Entering the final round in a tie for ninth, the Cardinals improved from the second round by four shots, but finished with a 13-over par 877 to tie with Texas.
No. 1 Oklahoma State (270-283-267—820) ran away with the tournament title by 32 shots, while Texas Tech was second and Arizona was third.
Junior Keegan de Lange was the lone Cardinal to finish in the top 25 by ending the tournament in a tie for 22nd. De Lange fired a 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday to end play at 1-over par over the two days.
Freshman Matthias Schmid tied for 32nd place after he fired a 3-over par 71-73-75=219, while John Murphy improved to tie for 44th after he was the only other UofL player to shoot under par on Tuesday. He shot a 71 after opening on Monday with rounds of 74 and 76.
Senior Nicolas Platret tied for 51st after firing 73-72-77=222 and Simon Zach tied for 71st when he carded a 72-77-78=227.
The Cardinals return to action on March 18-19 at the Hayt Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla.
