Field Hockey Opens Spring Play Saturday

Miami (Ohio) and Indiana will visit Trager Stadium
The University of Louisville field hockey team will open the spring season this weekend when Miami (Ohio) and Indiana visit Trager Stadium Saturday.

The RedHawks and the Hoosiers will face off at 11 a.m. and the Cards will take the field at approximately 12:30 p.m. against Miami (Ohio). Louisville will wrap up the day against Indiana at 2 p.m.

Louisville will return to action April 7-8 when the Cards welcome Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Michigan State and Miami (Ohio) for a weekend tournament.

UofL will hit the road the final two weekends of the spring with a trip to Ann Arbor, Mich., on April 14 and Evanston, Ill., on April 22.

The Cards finished the 2017 season with a 14-8 overall record after earning their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance and posting a runner-up finish in the ACC championship. UofL also posted a 4-2 record in ACC play - the most wins since joining the conference in 2014 - and finished tied for second in the regular season standings. Louisville was ranked No. 8 in the final National Field Hockey Coaches' Association poll after being ranked in the top 10 for six weeks in 2017.
