Wasike Opens Up the 2018-19 Indoor Season at the BU Season Opener

Dorcas Wasike will run her first 5,000 meters of the season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Â -Â The University of Louisville track and field team will open their 2018-19 indoor season on Saturday at the BU Season Opener. Louisville All-American Dorcas Wasike will open the season in the 5,000 meters and will be the only Cardinal competing.Â

Wasike will run against a challenging field for her first competition of the season.  She is coming off another All-American season in cross country.  She finished with a time of 20:08.2 for a 14th  place finish at the NCAA Championships. She closed out a historic campaign with top-15 finishes in all seven races and five victories, including the ACC and NCAA Southeast Regional championships.
She will begin her sophomore campaign in indoor track and field at the BU Season Opener. She finished her freshman indoor season as the ACC Champion in the 5,000 meters. She was also a silver medalist in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.Â
