Zuska Leads Cardinals into Fourth Place at the Grove After Two Rounds

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jiri Zuska tied his personal-best round to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team into fourth place after two rounds at the Intercollegiate at The Grove sponsored by T3 and Shane McFarland Construction.

After shooting a 3-over-par 75 on Sunday, Zuska responded in a major way Monday, carding a 6-under-par 66 to move into a tie for 11th-place overall. His 66 was two shots off the course record, which was set by Purdue's Jarle Volden, who fired a 64 on Monday. Zuska, a native of Kladno, Czech Republic, recorded an eagle on No. 2 and registered five birdies on the day to pace the Cardinals, who moved up one position.

After ending the first round in fifth place, the Cardinals shot a six under 282 to sit six shots behind South Florida, which leads the way at 12-under-par. Liberty is in second place at 9-under-par and Purdue is third at 8-under-par.

Simon Zach, who led the Cardinals with a 69 on Sunday, shot a 1-under-par 71 on Monday to stand in a tie for eighth-place overall. He recorded three birdies on the afternoon, while John Murphy moved into a tie for 20th after shooting a 1-under-par 71 – the third player to shoot under-par for the Cardinals on Monday.

Matthias Schmid shot a 2-over-par 74 to fall into a tie for 26th, while Devin Morley moved to 61st after firing a 5-over-par 77.
