Cards continue fall play this weekend
Four members of the University of Louisville men's tennis team will travel to South Bend, Ind. on Friday for the start of the three-day Bobby Bayliss Invitational. Representing the Cardinals will be freshmen Fabien Salle, Alex Wesbrooks and David Mizrahi and junior Clement Filho.
Â
"I am excited about sending three freshmen – Fabien Salle, David Mizrahi, Alex Wesbrooks – and Clement Filho to the Bobby Bayliss Invitational," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "It always is a strong field and I feel we can do well. We have a good freshman class, and Clement is very motivated to win."Â
Â
The Bobby Bayliss Invitational will be held at Notre Dame's Eck Tennis Pavilion and will feature four flights of singles and three flights of doubles matches. The first flight of singles and doubles will begin on Friday at noon. Action will begin at 9 a.m. on the final two days of the tournament, including two flights of singles on Saturday and capping off with the final singles and doubles rounds on Sunday.
Â
The Cardinals will face competition from a tough slate of opponents, including Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Notre Dame.
Â
Last time out, Mizrahi went undefeated in his collegiate debut at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational. Salle also had a solid first outing as a Cardinal, recording two singles victories and reaching the doubles finals alongside Federico Gomez at the Vanderbilt Commodore Scramble.
