Cards Earn No. 3 Seed in ACC Championship

Louisville will take on sixth-seeded wake Forest a quarterfinal matchup Thursday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m.
The No. 10-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team has earned the No. 3 seed in the 2018 ACC Championship. The Cardinals (12-4, 3-3 ACC) will face the No. 6-seed Wake Forest in the quarterfinals Thursday at 4 p.m. The Demon Deacons (8-7, 2-4) defeated the Cardinals 4-2 in the regular season matchup on Sept. 21 in Winston-Salem.

Top-ranked North Carolina earned the No. 1 seed and received a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 4 Boston College and No. 5 Virginia on Friday, Nov. 2, at noon. Â No. 2 Duke (5-1) will take on No. 7 Syracuse (1-5) on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

The 2018 ACC Championship will be held at North Carolina's Karen Shelton Stadium Nov. 1,2 and 4.

Tom Werme will handle the quarterfinals on Thursday (Nov. 1) and Sunday's championship game, with Jeff Fischel on hand for Friday's semifinals. Leah Secondo, a former three-sport star at the collegiate level and a leading women's sports analyst for more than three decades, will handle color commentary throughout the tournament.
