
McCrudden and Woods Named to USA Field Hockey Roster for Series Against The Netherlands

Cards represented on national team by alums Erin McCrudden and Nicole Woods
The University of Louisville's Nicole Woods and Erin McCrudden have been named to the USA Field Hockey Women's National Team (USWNT) roster for a four-game series against The Netherlands. The friendly will take place Jan. 25, 27, 28 and 30 at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

Woods, who completed her collegiate playing career in 2017 has tallied 14 caps after being named to the USWNT in the spring of 2017. Woods, who hails from Beverly, Mass., earned 2017 National Field Hockey Coaches' Association All-America honors and is a three-time NFHCA All-West Region selection. As a senior co-captain, she tallied 19 points (6G, 7A) while helping Louisville (14-8) reach the finals of the ACC Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2014. The three-time ACC selection is a four-year starter is a three-time All-ACC selection and finishes her career ranked ninth on Louisville's list for career points (71) and assists (25).

McCrudden played for the Cardinals from 2013-16 and has earned 11 caps since joining the USWNT in early 2017. The Putnam Valley, N.Y. native capped her playing career at Louisville by earning 2016 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) second team All-America honors. During her senior campaign, the midfielder and team co-captain led the ACC and was second in the nation with 18 assists. She went on to be named to the All-ACC second team and NFHCA Senior Game and garnered Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region honors for the second straight season.
