Men's Golf to Host Louisville Cardinal Invitational

The Cardinals will tee off Friday morning at 9 a.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team will continue its fall season this weekend when it hosts the Louisville Cardinal Challenge on Friday through Sunday at the University of Louisville Golf Club (par 72, 7,192 yards) in Simpsonville, Ky.
The 54-hole event will feature 18 holes of play on Friday-Sunday with tee times beginning Friday morning at 9 a.m. ET on holes No. 1 and No. 10.
Joining the Cardinals in a solid field will be DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville State, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Miami (Ohio), Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and Winthrop.
Louisville last hosted a men's golf tournament in 2014, winning the event for the fifth time in school history. The Cardinals won after making up a nine-stroke deficit in round three to finish with a team score of 870 and top the 16-team field.
Louisiana-Monroe finished second, shooting a 7-over par 871 – just one shot behind the tournament champions. Cincinnati (877), Austin Peay State (879), finished third and fourth respectively, while UT Martin shot 882 as a unit to round out the tournament's top five.
The Cardinals are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Bearcat Invitational on Tuesday in Cincinnati, Ohio.
