Louisville sits in fifth place overall after day one of the tournament.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville freshman Matthias Schmid fired a 6-under par 66 in the second round and jumped all the way up to a tie for fourth place at the Rod Myers Invitational. Overall, he finished the day with a two-round total of 139 after shooting 72 in the opening round.
The Cardinals sit in fifth place overall in the 12-team field after day one. They shot a collective 289 in the opening round and 280 in the second round for a two-round total of 569, just one stroke behind fourth place Duke.
Simon Zach shot four-under par over two rounds to land in a five-way tie for sixth with a total of 140. Keegan de Lange is tied for 16th, while Trevor Johnson is in 44th.
Wake Forest owns the overall lead with a two-round total of 558, shooting 18-under par. The Oregon Ducks trail Wake Forest by six strokes with a score of 564, followed by Vanderbilt with a total of 565.
The second round gets underway on Sunday morning and fans can follow the action at golfstat.com.
