Adam Rainaud and Adam Hadwin will battle in this weekend's major championship.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A pair of former University of Louisville men's golfers will have the opportunity to compete in the PGA Tours most prestigious events – the PGA Championship.
Adam Hadwin and Adam Rainaud will play in one of the tour's major events, which begins on Thursday at the Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C.
The course has undergone major changes to make it one of the toughest courses on tour. Last year when it hosted the Wells Fargo, the course played to a par 72 at 7,575 yards. The scorecard this week is just 25 additional yards (to 7,600) but now playing to a par 71.
Rainaud will tee off at 7:30 a.m. with Tony Finau and Fabrizo Zanotti, while Hadwin gets going at 1:50 p.m., teaming with D.A. Points and Tyrrell Hatton.
A native of South Hadley, Mass., Rainaud is making his fourth appearance on the tour, while Hadwin has been a consistent performer in the professional ranks, and is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Bridgestone Invitational.
