
Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

The Cardinal women and 12 individuals were honored
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville track and field women's team as well as multiple individuals earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors on Thursday.
The women's team was tabbed a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 13th straight year after recording a 3.344 cumulative grade-point average. The women were among 360 NCAA Division I teams honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA. Breaking it down further, 218 of those were women's teams compared to 142 men's programs.
Individually, the women placed sevem student-athletes and the men place five student-athletes on their respective men's and women's USTFCCCA All-Academic teams.
Raven Grant, Holly Hankenson, Jade Hawkins, Linda Mutter, Claire Noser, Dolly Nyemah, and Morgan Zacharias represented the Cardinals among the 752 women earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field season.
Christian Buckley, Edwin Kibichiy, Oliver Newport, John Kolb and Trevor Troutman represented the Cardinals among the 516 men earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field season.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
•            For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
•            For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
