Stone and Walsh Continue Progress in USA Field Hockey Program

Stone named to Under-21 National Camp, Walsh selected for Development Squad National Camp
The University of Louisville's Taylor Stone and Katie Walsh are continuing to hone their field hockey skills over the summer. After competing in last week's USA Field Hockey's Young Women's Championship, Stone earned a spot in the Under-21 Junior National Camp while Walsh was selected for the Development Squad National Camp.
Stone, a rising junior from Herndon, Va. was named to the USWNT U-21 team in early 2017 and was selected for a test series against England in April. The defender is a two-year starter for the Cardinals and scored four goals while helping Louisville's defense to an ACC-best seven shutouts in 2016.

Walsh, a rising junior midfielder from Louisville, Ky., played in all 21 games with six starts and scored one goal in 2016.

Last season, Louisville posted a 15-6 overall record and earned and at-large bid to the NCAA tournament for the third straight season. The Cardinals were ranked No. 9 in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Poll after spending the entire regular season ranked in the top 10, reaching as high as No. 6.
