De Lange's Season Comes to an End at the NCAA Regional
May 17, 2017 | Men's Golf
Sophomore concluded play on Wednesday at 9-over par.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfer Keegan de Lange's season didn't end the way he would have hoped, but it's certainly something he can build toward heading into the 2017-18 campaign.
De Lange, a sophomore who is the team's top player, finished with a three-day total of 233 after shooting a 9-over par 81 on Wednesday. He concluded the season in a tie for 63rd place at 17-over par.
The three-day event was being played at the par-72, 7,411-yard Kampen Course at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
After shooting a 75 on Tuesday, it appeared De Lange was ready to make a move. He opened play on the back nine and shot an even par on the first four holes. However, the next five holes were played at 4-over par.
The front nine was no better as the native of Pretoria, South Africa, played the final nine holes at 5-over par.
The finals will be played May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. New Mexico has the team lead entering the final round.
