De Lange Shows Second Round Improvement at NCAA Regional

De Lange fires second round score of 75 at NCAA West Lafayette Regional.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfer Keegan de Lange has a two-round total of 8-over 152 and is tied for 48th place at the 2017 NCAA Men's Golf West Lafayette Regional on Tuesday.
The three-day event is being played at the par-72, 7,411-yard Kampen Course at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
De Lange, a sophomore from Pretoria, South Africa, improved on his first round score by firing a 3-over par 75.
He is 14 strokes behind the leader, Trent Wallace of Illinois State. Lawrence had five birdies in his second round.
"Keegan played much better today," head coach Mark Crabtree said. "He was 1-under par through 13 holes by hitting many good golf shots. He struggled to finish down the stretch, but I'm looking for him to go out tomorrow and continue to get better."
Playing in a regional for the second-straight year, de Lange played consistently on Tuesday, playing the first 13 holes at 1-under par.
Opening the first hole with a bogey, de Lange birdied the next two holes to go to 1-under par, but finished the front nine at 2-over par.
The back nine saw de Lange shoot a 1-over par 37 after recording back-to-back birdies on No. 14 and No. 15. He would bogey No. 17 and No. 18 to finish at 3-over par.
The top five teams and the top individual not on an advancing team will qualify for the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship finals. Entering Wednesday's final round, Lawrence is currently third among players competing for the lone individual advancing position.
The finals will be played May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. New Mexico has the team lead entering the final round.
