
Men's Golf Ends Regular Season with Seventh-Place Finish at Clemson

Simon Zach records seven birdies on Sunday to shoot 68.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â Two University of Louisville men's golfers shot under par on Sunday to lead the Cardinals to a tournament team-best 287 score to finish in seventh place after the final round of the second annual Clemson Invitational at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls in Salem, S.C.
Entering the day in eighth place after shooting a 299 as a team, the Cardinals moved up one spot to seventh place after three rounds. Clemson, who won last year's event, took home honors at 6-under par. Georgia Tech was second and Alabama was in third place.
On Sunday, the Cardinals were led by Simon Zach's 68 and Nicolas Platret's 69, the only two rounds under for the Cardinals during the tournament.
Platret was the highest finisher for the Cardinals, ending the three-day event in a tie for 15th place after firing rounds of 75-76-69=220. The Dracy LeFort, France, native, carded four birdies during the final rounds, scoring on No. 1, No. 9, No. 11 and No. 16. Zach made the biggest leap forward with his round on Sunday, moving up into a tie for 26th after firing rounds of 82-74-68=224. He had seven birdies on the afternoon, including four on the back nine.
Keegan de Lange was tied for 28th overall after shooting 74-76-75=225, while Trevor Johnson was tied for 37th after shooting 81-73-75=229. Devin Morley rounded out the top five with his performance of 77-81-79=237 to tie for 57th.
The Cardinals will return to action on April 21-23 at the ACC Championships in Clinton, S.C.
