Women's Tennis Set to Host Miami and Wake Forest

Cards have competitive weekend ahead with Senior Day scheduled for Sunday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will host the No. 42-ranked University of Miami and No. 28-ranked Wake Forest University on this weekend in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Cardinals will face the Hurricanes at 3 p.m. on Friday and the Demon Deacons at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Cardinals will recognize Olivia Boesing and Elle Stokes on their Senior Day on Sunday.
Louisville enters this weekend with a record of 13-7 with a conference record of 2-6. The Cardinals look to bounce back after dropping both matches last weekend to Syracuse and Virginia Tech. Freshman, Tiffany Huber, improved her record last weekend to 13-4, and her conference record to 3-4 on the season. The doubles team of Jessie Paul and Olivia Boesing won both doubles matches last weekend, having played together for the first time.
Miami is currently 5-9 this season, with a conference record of 3-5, coming off a win over Florida Atlantic Friday. This marks the third time in as many years that the Cardinals and Hurricanes face off, with Miami winning the previous two meetings. Miami currently has two players ranked nationally in singles play. Junior, Sinead Lohan, is currently No. 11 in the nation, with a record of 4-8 against nationally ranked opponents.Â
Wake Forest goes into the weekend with a record of 14-6, with a conference record of 4-4. Wake Forest has won both of the previous two meetings, and this will mark the third year in a row that the two schools square off. The Demon Deacons split last weekend's matches, beating Virginia, but falling to No. 10 Georgia Tech. Wake Forest also has two ranked players, with their best coming from No. 62, senior, Kimmy Guerin. Guerin is currently 19-7, with a conference record of 4-1, and 4-4 against nationally ranked players.Â
