April 03, 2017 | Track & Field
The Cardinal men jump back into the rankings this season
LOUISVILLE, KY. --Â The Louisville men's track and field team was ranked 25th in the latest edition of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Team Rankings, the organization announced on Monday. It is the first time the men's team has been ranked in the Top 25 since Louisville last season when the team was ranked 24th in the preseason poll.Â
"It is exciting to see our men's team back in the Top 25," said head coach Dale Cowper.  "The team has worked hard throughout the indoor season and is clearly beginning to put thing together outdoors. We have a lot of work to do in April but things look promising for the championship segment in May and June."
The Cardinal men racked up a total of 80.93 points in the computer-based rankings. Meanwhile, the Louisville women are listed outside the top-25 at No. 49 with 41.23 points. The point tally is based on 2017 outdoor performances through the first few weeks of competition.
The Cardinals will be back in action this weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational.Â
