Field Hockey Wraps up Undefeated Spring Season

Cards defeat Indiana in spring finale
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville field hockey team wrapped up an undefeated spring season with a win over Indiana Saturday afternoon at Trager Stadium.

The Cardinals opened the day with a 3-0 win in regulation. Abby Grimes opened the scoring just two minutes into the game and Sydnie Swartwood added a second goal with an assist from Nicole Woods to give Louisville a 2-0 lead entering halftime. Woods added a score of her own with a feed from Bethany Russ to give the Cards a 3-0 win in regulation.

The teams moved into a sudden-victory 7v7 period in which Carter Ayars put the Cards on top.

The spring scrimmage ended with a shootout which featured goals by Woods and Taylor Stone.
