Emmonnie Henderson Named ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week

Henderson earns her first weekly honor of the season after setting a new school record
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville's Emmonnie Henderson was one of four student-athletes who each rank among the top five nationally in their respective events to earn Atlantic Coast Conference Track and Field Performers of the Week honors.
Virginia's Oghenakpobo Efekoro is the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week, while Syracuse's Freddie Crittenden III repeated as Men's Track Performer of the Week. Miami's Shakima Wimbley earned Women's Track Performer of the Week accolades, while Henderson earned ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week.
Henderson finished second in the shot put at the Crimson Tide Invitational on Saturday. She threw a personal best of 17.50m/57-5.00 which surpassed Alabama's meet record. She also set a new school record with the throw, passing Chinwe Okoro's school record of 17.39m/57-0.75 set in 2012. Henderson now owns both the indoor and outdoor school record in the shot put.
