
Field Hockey Stays Undefeated in Spring Play

Cards play Northwestern to 2-2 draw, defeat Iowa 1-0
The University of Louisville field hockey team stayed undefeated in the spring season with a 2-2 draw against Northwestern and a 1-0 win against Iowa Saturday at Northwestern's Lakeside Field.Â

The Cardinals opened the day with a 2-2 draw against host Northwestern. Louisville took 1-0 lead with a first-half goal from junior Marigrace Ragsdale. The Wildcats answered with a goal in the second half, but Ragsdale added a second goal to put the Cards back on top 2-1. NU quickly evened the score and the 2-2 tie held through the rest of the game.

In the second contest of the day, sophomore Taylor Stone providing the only goal of the game in the first half as the Cardinals held on for a 1-0 win.

Sophomore Ayeisha McFerran and freshman Hollyn Barr split time in the cage through both games.

Louisville returns to action next weekend with a trip to Oxford, Ohio to face Miami (Ohio) and Kent State.
