Women's Tennis Hits the Road for Syracuse and Virginia Tech

ACC Swing ahead for the Cards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team is on the road this weekend, traveling to Syracuse University on Friday, and Virginia Tech University on Sunday. The Cardinals will square off against the Orange at the Drumlins Country Club at 3 p.m. and face the Hokies at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center at 2 p.m.

Louisville enters Friday's matchup 13-5 on the season with a conference record of 2-4. The Cardinals split last week's matches, falling to Florida State, and taking home the second conference win of the season, beating Boston College 4-3. Redshirt sophomore, Aleksandra Mally, improved her record to 12-6 on the season, getting her first conference win against Boston College. Freshman, Tiffany Huber fell to just her third opponent on the season, bringing her overall record to 12-3 on the season.
Syracuse is currently 5-8 on the season, with a conference record of 2-4, and tied for 12th in the ACC. This will be the fourth time in three years, that the Orange face the Cardinals, with Syracuse leading the series 2-1. Syracuse is a relatively experienced squad, having only one freshman on the team and just two seniors and a graduate student to help lead the way. Freshman, Miranda Ramirez, who is 11-1 with a conference record of 5-0, has the best record on the team, and the only player with a record above .500.Â

The Hokies enter Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals, with a record of 7-8. Virginia Tech is currently in 14th in the ACC, with a conference record of 0-6, beating Pittsburgh. This marks the third time in four years, that the Cardinals will face the Hokies, with the Virginia Tech winning all the recent matchups. Virginia Tech is led by freshman, Natalie Novonta, who is currently 11-3 on the season with a conference record of 2-3. Novonta has the best record on the team, with senior, Francesca Fusinato, also having a record of 10-5.
