Spring schedule includes three home dates
The University of Louisville field hockey team has released its 2017 spring schedule which includes three home dates along with tournaments at Northwestern and Miami (Ohio).

The Cards will open spring play at home on April 1 when Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State visit Trager Stadium. The weekend continues with another home tournament featuring Ball Sate, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Ohio State on April 2.

UofL will embark on the first of two road trips on April 8 when the Cards travel to Evanston, Ill., to face Northwestern and Iowa. The following weekend will take Louisville to Oxford, Ohio for a tournament featuring host Miami (Ohio) and Kent State.

The Cards will wrap up the spring season on April 22 when Indiana visits Trager Stadium.

Louisville is coming off of a successful 2016 campaign that saw the Cards produce a 15-6 overall record and earn and at-large bid to the NCAA tournament for the third straight season. The Cardinals were ranked No. 9 in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Poll after spending the entire regular season ranked in the top 10, reaching as high as No. 6.

Led by 2016 NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year Justine Sowry, the Cards return 13 players from last year's team including All-American Ayeisha McFerran and fellow NFHCA All-West Region selections Minout Mink and Nicole Woods.
