
Men's Golf Ends Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Fourth Place

Cardinals place three in the top 13.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team carded a final round 8-over par 288 to finish in fourth place Tuesday at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at Kingsmill Resort.

The Cardinals fired a 280-293-288=861 to finish 11 shots behind Tennessee -- winners of the three-day event after shooting an an even-par 280 in the final round to finish at 10-over 850, and edge Penn State (11-over 851) by one stroke. Eastern Kentucky was in third place, while Sam Houston ended the tournament in fifth place.

Three of the five golfers on the Cardinals' five-man team finished in the top 13 overall.

Nicolas Platret paced the Cardinals by shooting a 2-over par 212. After opening play with a first-round score of 68, Platret carded rounds of 72 on Monday and Tuesday to end the tournament in sixth place.

After carding a 4-over par 74 on Monday, Simon Zach shot the best round for the Cardinals by posting a 70 to end play in 10th-place at 70-64-70=214.

Keegan de Lange was 2-over on Tuesday to end play at 6-over par, shooting 68-76-72=216 to tie for 13th-place. Trevor Johnson was 11-over par to close in a tie for 41st and Eric Dulik was tied for 43rd-place after shooting 74-74-74=222.

Louisville will next compete in the Clemson Invitational from April 7-9 in Clemson, S.C.
