
Men's Golf Opens With the Lead at the Kingsmill

Nicolas Platret and Keegan de Lange are tied for the overall lead.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team took a first-place lead and opens play with a three shot lead ahead of the field after the first round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on the par 70, 6-765-yard course on the River Course on Sunday.
The Cardinals shot an even-par 280 to lead second-place Penn State by three shots and third-place Tennessee by six strokes after the first round of action. Sam Houston is fourth at 10-over par and Marshall is in fifth at 14-over par.
Louisville's Nicolas Platret and Keegan de Lange currently are tied for first on the individual leaderboard, as the Cardinals placed three in the top 10. Both have a 2-under-par 68 after the first round of action. The duo combined for nine birdies on the day, with Platret recorded five, including three on the front nine. Simon Zach was the third player in the top 10 after shooting an even par 70 to sit in sixth place after one round of action.
The Cardinals will tee off at 11 a.m. and will be paired with Penn State and Tennessee.
