
Men’s Golf One Shot Off the Lead at the John Hayt Invitational

Three Cardinals sit in the top 10 after one round of action.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's golf team continued its strong start to the spring season by shooting a 2-under par 286 to stand in second place after one round at the John Hayt Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
UCF holds a one-stroke lead over the Cardinals after the first round, while Liberty (289) is third, UAB (290) is fourth and host North Florida (291) is in fifth.
For the second consecutive event, Nicolas Platret paced the Cardinals on the first day. The Dracy LeFort, France, native who opened play last week at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate by shooting a five under par, followed that up by shooting a 2-under par 70 on Friday to sit in a tie for fifth place.
Keegan de Lange and Trevor Johnson were also in the top 10 after one round of action by each shooting a 1-under par 71 to stand in a tie for ninth place, while Simon Zach was 2-over par with a 74 to finish in 29th place. J.D. Lehman rounded out the top five with a 4-over par 76.
The Cardinals, who will be paired with Liberty and UCF will tee off on the first hole at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
