
Men's Golf Sits Two Shots Off the Lead in Spring Debut

MOBILE, Ala. – Junior Nicolas Platret and sophomore Keegan de Lange combined to shoot 8-under par to propel the University of Louisville men's golf team to a second-place standing after two rounds of the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course on Monday.
In their first match of the spring, the Cardinals are in second place after 36 holes, sitting two shots behind South Alabama, which shot 565 for the day. Mississippi State is in third place just six shots off the lead and Georgia State is in fourth place.
Platret posted his best day as a Cardinal, firing a 5-under par 139, which is one shot behind Georgia State's Alexander Hermann, the tournament leader at 6-under par.
A native of Dracy LeFort, France, Platret carded five birdies in the first 36 holes.
De Lange, playing in the first position for the Cardinals, is tied for seventh after shooting a 3-under par 141. After firing a 1-over par 73 in the first round, De Lange responded with a 4-under par 68 in the second round to push him into the top 10.
Trevor Johnson is the third UofL player shooting under par by carding a 2-under par 142 to stand in a tie for 11th place, while Simon Zach is tied for 25th after firing a 1-over par 145.
J.D. Lehman is tied for 42nd after a two-round score of 148.
The Cardinals will tee off in the first group on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. (EST).
