Kaylin Morissette Selected No. 1 in UWLX Supplemental Draft

Morissette was the first three-time All-American in UofL lacrosse history.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Former University of Louisville lacrosse standout Kayla Morissette was selected first overall by the Baltimore Ride in the United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) Supplemental Draft, which took place on Saturday. In addition, current assistant coach Faye Brust was selected with the 19th pick overall by the Boston Storm.
Overall, 24 new players were selected in the supplemental draft.
Following her senior season in 2016, Morissette was named a first team All-American for the second straight year. She finished her career with the Cardinals as the first player in program history to become a three-time All-American. She wrapped up her senior campaign as the all-time draw controls leader with 572 and ranked second in the nation in draw controls with 8.56 per game. She ranks fourth in school history with 167 goals.
The first team all-ACC selection led the Cardinals with 56 points, 37 goals, 19 assists and 36 ground balls as a senior.
In August, she was drafted by the Baltimore Brave in the first ever Women's Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) Draft.
Brust, who is in her first season as an assistant coach at Louisville, was a four-year starter for the Cardinals. She helped lead the Cards to two NCAA Tournament appearances during her junior and senior seasons in 2014 and 2015, and was an IWLCA Third Team All-American in 2014.Â
She ranks seventh in school history with 143 goals.
