Junior Taylor Stone becomes the fourth Cardinal to earn ACC weekly honors this season
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville's Taylor Stone was tabbed the ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 16.

Stone helped the Cardinals extend their win streak to seven games and maintain a tie for first in the ACC standings with her defensive efforts and by scoring the game-winning goal in the 3-2 win at No. 5 North Carolina on Saturday. The junior defender and midfielder from Herndon, Virginia, dribbled the ball into the circle and delivered her career-high sixth goal of the season to break a 2-2 tie midway through the second half. She was also part of a Louisville defense which held the Tar Heels to six shots on goal and withstood five penalty corners to ensure the win.

The Cardinals (11-4, 4-1 ACC) will wrap up ACC play Saturday with a matchup against No. 4 Virginia (12-2, 4-1) which will determine the regular season champion.
