Zach Leads the Cardinals after Round One of the Bank of Tennessee

Junior is tied for fifth place after one round of action.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team placed two golfers in the top 15 to stand in a tie for fourth place after round one of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridge.
With a team total of 282, the Cardinals. who are tied with Coastal Carolina for dfourth place, are five shots behind the first-round leader Penn State, which shot 277. Tennessee is in second place at 280, while North Carolina-Wilmington is in third place at 281.
Junior J.D. Hughes of Penn State is the tournament's individual leader after a career-low 6-under 66 in round one. Hughes put together a seven-birdie round, playing the par-4's at 3-under.
Round two will tee off Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. ET and round three will follow on Sunday in the final day of the tournament. The Cardinals will tee at at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, pairing with Coastal Carolina and Kent State.
Leading the Cardinals, Simon Zach fired a 4-under par 68 to sit in a tie for fifth place after one round of action. The junior birdied seven of the 18 holes -- three on the front and four on the back -- to stand just two shots off the lead heading into Saturday's second round.
Nicloas Platret is tied for 11th after carding a round of 2-under par 70, while Keegan de Lange was the third UofL player to shoot under par by firing a 1-under par 71 to tie for 21st.
Matthias Schmid fired a 1-over par 73 to finish in a tie for 38th on Friday, while John Murphy was 3-over par to stand in tie for 54th.
Playing as an individual, Erik Dulik is tied for 62nd after shooting a 4-over par 76.
