
McCrudden Named to USA Field Hockey Developmental Squad

2016 senior Erin McCrudden selected to USA Field Hockey Developmental Squad
The University of Louisville's Erin McCrudden has been selected to the 2017 USA Field Hockey Developmental team as announced by the organization on Monday.

McCrudden, a 2016 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) second team All-American had a career-best senior campaign which included All-ACC second team honors and a selection to the NFHCA Senior Game. The midfielder from Putnam Valley, N.Y. is a two-time Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region honoree led the conference and was second in the nation with 18 assists. Â

The team co-captain was tied for second on the team with 22 points and earned ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 18 after scoring the game-winning goal against then-No. 3 North Carolina. McCrudden is ranked second on the school's list for single season assists with 18 in 2016 and finished her career with 22 assists, placing her tied for 10th on Louisville's all-time list.

The Developmental Squad will be attending several training camps throughout the year between March and May, where they will train and scrimmage against the U.S. U-21 Women's National Team and college teams. In June, they will compete as a team at the Young Women's National Championship held at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster County, Pa.
