Cross Country Set to Compete in the Greater Louisville Classic

The Cardinal Men and Women return to action on Saturday
Event: Greater Louisville Classic

Start Times: 9:30 a.m. EST Men's Gold 8K | 10:15 a.m. EST Women's Gold 5K
Place: E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park
The Field: The race features 37 schools from across the country and Canada
The University of Louisville men's and women's cross country team takes to the field this weekend when they compete in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday morning. The men's 8K event begins at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 5K event following at 10 a.m.
After two strong starts to the season and being named the ACC Freshman Performer of the Week, Dorcas Wasike will look to lead the field to another good finish this weekend. Wasike paced the Louisville squad at the Commodore Classic with a time of 16:59.8, while juniors Bailey Davis finished 32nd with a time of 17:51.8 and Mia Ross finished 44th with a time of 17:59.7.
Senior Edwin Kibichiy paced the field at the Commodore Classic, winning with a time of 24:01.6 and will look for another strong finish this weekend. Fellow senior Calvin Chemoiywo crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 24:15.2 and junior George Yator crossed in 24th place at 25:25.5.
Following this weekend's action, the Cardinals will prepare for the Pre Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 15.
