Today we catch up with junior Emily Howell
Throughout the summer, GoCards.com will be catching up with members of the Louisville lacrosse team. Today's installment features junior defender Emily Howell.
What is your favorite thing about summer vacation?
I love spending time with my family and my dogs back home in Maryland. I also love having the time to see my friends who I don't see during the school year.
If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would it be and why?
If I could go anywhere on vacation it would be Iceland. I would love to see the beautiful landscape and I would like to travel somewhere different out of the United States.
What is your favorite vacation memory?
Besides going to the Outer Banks beach, my favorite vacation memory was going to Washington State to visit my whole dad's side of the family for the first time. I got to see all my family I have never met before and we got to see a lot of cool sites such as Mt. Rainer.
What have you been doing so far this summer?
This summer is very different from all the others because this year I have been here in Louisville taking summer classes. In Louisville I have been spending a lot of time studying and hanging out with everyone who is here. My father and my brother came to visit me for a weekend which was really nice.
Best Memory at Louisville so far in your career?
My best memory at Louisville so far is winning both Notre Dame and Boston College this past spring year in OT. It was one of the best feelings after winning such a close game.
What is your goal for the upcoming season?
My goal for this upcoming season is going to have the team show our potential in the ACC and then into the post season. I also would love to get better as a teammate and to continue to learn as a player.
Favorite thing to do in Louisville?
My favorite thing to do in Louisville is to go to all the sporting events in the fall, winter, and spring when we have the opportunity to go. Also I enjoy going to Bardstown Road or Downtown to try most of the unique restaurants they have.
What is your favorite thing about the sport of lacrosse?
My favorite thing about the sport is the how fast it is and how quickly momentum can shift.
