
Robin Sciot-Siegrist leads European team to Palmer Cup Win

Senior wins a pair of matches for the European squad
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Robin Sciot-Siegrist of the University of Louisville men's golf team helped Europe defeat the United States, 18.5-11.5, to reclaim the Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club. Team Europe bettered Team USA for the second straight day in singles, 5.5-4.5. The United States now leads the all-time series 10-9-1.
Sciot-Siegrist, one of the top players in school history, joined fellow Frenchmen Rozner with an undefeated record when he downed Will Gordon, 1-up. Sciot-Siegrist won the first with birdie but Gordon responded by taking the next two holes. Sciot-Siegrist claimed Nos. 4 and 5, to take a lead he would not relinquish. He moved his advantage to 2-up thru Nos. 11, 12 and 16 before settling for the 1-up victory.
A native of Rueil-Malmaison, France, Robin Sciot-Siegrist also defeated Derek Bard, 2 and 1, to push Europe's lead to 11.5-6.5 after Saturday's play. The first 10 holes were a back-and-forth affair, with Bard holding a 1-up lead thru Nos. 5 and 6 and Sciot-Siegrist thru No. 9. The Frenchman took the lead for good with eagle at No. 11 and pushed the lead to 2-up with birdie at No. 14.
In Friday's doubles play,Antoine Rozner and Sciot-Siegrist defeated Rico Hoey and Nahum Mendoza III, 3 and 2.
